About the Event
"Match the Hatch". As fly anglers, this phrase is an essential tool in our fly kit. Knowing what our target species are eating can make or break a fishing trip and coincidentally, those macros can tell you a lot about the body of water you are fishing!
Come join OWOTF in scenic Hinckley Reservation for an aquatic macroinvertebrate (fish food) sampling and identification workshop hosted by Cleveland Metroparks Aquatic Research Coordinator, Claire Weldon and OWOTF's Sierra Wick. The workshop will cover sampling techniques and macro-identification insights that can be applied to streams and rivers all across the country. No equipment or full-chest waders are necessary but please plan on bringing shoes that can get wet.
The workshop will start at 10:00AM and conclude at 12:00PM. There are 8 spots available for this event.
This is a free event, however we are asking for donations for the Cleveland Metropark's Fishing Fund which directly supports trout stockings throughout Cleveland Metroparks.
