About the Event
We have teamed up with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History Trout Club, Backpacker Fly Shop, Science on the Fly, Trash Fish Cle and John Fabian Fly Fishing for a cleanup at Edgewater. The cleanup is August 28th and will run from 9am-12pm.
We will meet at Edgewater’s public boat launch parking area. Half of the attendees will clean up the boat launch shoreline and the other half will head to Whiskey Island shoreline.
After the cleanup, we will head to Whiskey Islands Still & Eatery for food and beverages.
Lake Erie, the smallest Great Lake, has the second highest amount of plastic particles out of all the Great Lakes, and one of the highest concentrations of microplastics in the world. Volunteering at cleanups helps not only clean up a portion of these plastics but makes people aware of their plastic consumption. Community work and being a steward of our natural places helps educate people to be better.
We can’t wait to see everyone come together to make a difference in our area!
