Join Pat Kelly from Mad River Outfitters for a knots workshop.

Pat will cover a handful of basic knots you need to know as an angler. Pat will demonstrate how to do each knot and participants will be provided with materials to follow along.

This workshop will be great for those getting started in fly fishing and for those who want to improve/practice their knots. The workshop will begin at 7:00pm and conclude around 8:30pm. 

You will learn how to tie the following knots:

• Arbor Knot – For attaching backing to the reel
• Nail Knot – For attaching a leader to your fly line
• Blood knot – For connecting different sections when tying a leader
• Double Surgeons Knot – For adding tippet to the leader
• Clinch Knot – For tying a fly to the tippet
• Non Slip Loop Knot – For tying a fly to the tippet when you want to achieve movement with your fly
• Perfection Loop - Forms a fixed loop. Helpful when building leaders.

This workshop is free to attend, with the option to purchase a ticket. 

All money raised will go to the direct cost of running OWOTF, including covering costs for the OWOTF website, future events, guest speakers and more.

About Pat Kelly:

At the age of 3, Pat began fishing for bluegill and bass on his family property in Southern Ohio. Around the age of 10, he fell in love with the art of fly fishing and fly tying. Since then he has spent most of his time honing his skills on local waters chasing everything from trout on the Mad River, Musky in Southern Ohio and carp everywhere in-between. 

Pat works at Mad River Outfitters and has been there since 2008. He is a well-known guide for Pike, Musky and Smallmouth.
