Tour and Fish Castalia Fish Hatchery

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has invited OWOTF to tour and fish the Castalia State Fish Hatchery on Saturday, September 17th!

We will kick off the day with a tour of the hatchery from 10am-11am. After the tour, we will have lunch and fish the hatchery until 3pm. 

After the tour and fishing, we welcome you to join us for dinner and camping! We are planning to reserve a couple campsites at a nearby campground. Please let us know when you register if you plan to camp. Once we get a head count, we will make the reservations and reach out for payment.

We have 20 spots for this event.

Tentative schedule for the weekend:

Friday

• Volunteer at Hatchery for Fly Fishing 101 Classes (please reach out to Pam Allen at pamelasallen@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering)
• Campout with OWOTF

Saturday

• Hatchery Tour from 10:00am - 11:00am
• Lunch on behalf of OWOTF from 11:00am - 12:00pm
• Fishing from 12:00pm - 3:00pm  **You will need to bring your own rods, leaders and flies for this event. If you need suggestions on flies please let us know. We will only have a couple spare rods.**
• Fish local or head to the campground and hang out
• Group dinner in town
• Camp
